Online dating the end!

Does the amount of people using social networking sites mean that online dating sites are finished?

For some people it would seem so, Web 2.0 has transformed the traditional internet of before, this includes online dating sites, which have served their members well. But with social networking the whole task has taken on a new feel and it works, and otherwise why would millions of people be using these sites?

Web 2.0 has transformed the way people use the internet, and of course broadband has also contributed to this success, this is simply because the users are in control of the content, if they want to meet someone all they need to do is state so, and they will get plenty of offers.

However social networking is seen as then domain of the young, and so there are still opportunities for online dating sites to survive, they just need to target the right people.
