Lucky wedding day

For those people who do not know, the number eight is believed to be very lucky in China; this can be seen with the opening of the Olympic Games, which takes place in the 08/08/08. This date has to be one of the luckiest days around for the Chinese people.

However, there are also another spectacular event happening on the same day, as eight is lucky what other day could be better to get married on?

In Beijing there will be nine thousand couples tying the knot, if all goes well this will become a new world record. However, it is not about records some of these couples have been waiting for this day for some time.

You can understand why, when you realise that the divorce rate in china has risen steeply over the past few years to thirty nine per cent.
