Online dating is dead

Has the success of social networking sites like FaceBook and Bebo signalled the end of online dating sites? The problem is not that people are switching from one to the other more like people have seen how they can work the two in a sort of partnership.

But there is the generation gap too, while online dating is probably attractive to the older and busier internet users because a dating site is a more traditional method of finding a future partner, whereas social networking is a completely different concept altogether, initially users may not be looking for a date or partner, it just happens over time as it would do in real life.

Whatever the choice it is down the users who decide what type of person they would like to meet, there is probably going to be a distinct difference between to the two user groups, which is why browsing the site would be the best first step to make and then take it from there.
